Did you know giving back to our community is the heart of who we are at Bee Together?
We believe that giving back is an essential part of creating a thriving, compassionate community. For us, giving back to our community is not just a responsibility; it's a privilege and a core value that shapes who we are and how we approach what we do.
Building philanthropy into our business has always been part of the plan, and we are excited to share that we recently had the pleasure to divide and donate eight thousand dollars to some of our favourite non-profit organizations: CEASE, Zebra Centre, Shine Bright Be Fearless, and YWCA Edmonton. Each of these organizations embodies values of empowerment, resilience, and support, which resonate deeply with us.
So why did we choose them? ✨
Centre to Empower All Survivors of Exploitation (CEASE) & Trafficking
The Centre to Empower All Survivors of Exploitation (CEASE) & Trafficking is an Edmonton-based charity committed to empowering survivors of sexual exploitation and sex trafficking. They support individuals in rebuilding their lives through one-to-one support in the community, victim assistance through the courts, paying for fees to go back to school, and financial management.
Why this cause? For Jocelyn, human trafficking is an issue that struck her to her core the moment she learned that it is happening in Canada. The more she learned about the issue, the more committed she became to advocating in the area, whether through awareness events, fundraising, volunteering, research, and more. She has been involved in advocacy around human trafficking since 2019.

Zebra Child & Youth Advocacy Centre
Since 2002, the Zebra Child & Youth Advocacy Centre has served children and youth who have experienced abuse, supporting them through the investigative, justice and healing process with a continuum of multi-disciplinary resources.
The work that Zebra does is absolutely critical for young people and their families in our province. Child abuse and the rapid growth of online child sexual exploitation makes this organization more necessary than ever. They do their work with a kindness and empathy for those they serve that is admirable. We've been attending Zebra fundraising events since 2017 and have been moved by all the ways they support our kids/youth in this city. Their holistic approach on providing a safe space and support is unique and we're so lucky to have this resource in our city. They are currently fundraising to pay for their new building which will give them more space, parking, and an opportunity to have multiple services under one roof.

Shine Bright Be Fearless
Shine Bright Be Fearless was created by founder Jill Fetter, in Edmonton, AB, who recognized a need for support and encouragement for girls entering into high school as the transition can be intimidating. The recipient of the Shine Bright Be Fearless award is someone who exhibits resilience and positivity when faced with adversity. Award winners have the opportunity to buy something special for themselves to instill extra confidence as they make the intimidating transition into high school- whatever they feel will provide them with a little more sparkle as they enter their next stage of life. Their committee believes that compassion, understanding and support can have lasting effects on the recipients and their communities. Shine Bright Be Fearless are proud partners with YWCA Edmonton. Together, they work collaboratively to advance their shared vision and initiatives.
Rebecca and her daughter, Sloane have been involved in Shine Bright since 2019 when Sloane was asked to join the committee at just 3 years old! Sloane is involved in helping to fundraise, making the personalized certificates each girl receives, packing boxes, helping at fundraising events, speaking about Shine Bright and handing out awards (with a little help from Rebecca.)

YWCA Edmonton
As part of the oldest and largest women’s social service organization in Canada, YWCA Edmonton has been serving the capital region since its founding in 1907. They are a non-denominational women’s organization that advances the wellness and growth of women, girls and families. Today they support 10,000 women and families through counselling, disability services, youth programming, and outdoor education.
The work that the YWCA does touches so many lives in a multitude of areas and they are an organization that truly walks in alignment with their values and supports their words through actions every day. We have attended their events and supported them through our give back initiatives since 2017. They offer a variety of crucial services that focus on the wellness and growth of women, girls, and their families which is something that we believe makes a huge impact on their trajectory.
