Rebecca:
JATEC’s Greatest Show
This was so much fun to dream up and create a fun and exciting circus-themed event. Having the creative freedom and an extremely healthy budget isn't as common as you'd think in the event world, so when these two factors are available, magic can happen! From transforming the venue into a place where guests felt like they were under the big top to all of the awe-inspiring performers to the elevated carnival-inspired food choices, this event had it all.
Bee Together’s Give Back Day
We intentionally save a portion of money from each event we do that we can donate back into the community, whether that be through purchasing tickets to fundraising events and initiatives or by donating money to causes that mean something to us. This year was really special because, as a business, we have been able to donate more than $8,000 in cash to a select number of local non-profits. We took a day to hand-deliver cheques to four different non-profits and were able to sit and connect with them all to learn about the incredible things they are doing in the community. It was an inspiring and feel-good day as a business owner.

JATEC’s Greatest Show
Seeing the transformation of the Hangar at Fort Edmonton Park—this was truly a remarkable experience. Watching the vision that Rebecca and I created come to life was surreal. We transformed an airport hangar into a luxurious big top tent filled with so many elements to add to the experience and create endless wow moments for guests. It is such an interesting process, and I love being a part of it from conception to execution. We started with a mood board for our client with three different options to choose from. Once we had the confirmed vision, we went to work with our trusted vendors to pull together the pieces to ensure the transformation was on point and that all impactful elements would be included. The setup for the event took almost two full days, but seeing it come to life and guest reactions when they walked through the door was wildly rewarding!
All is Bright 2024
After months of hard work, seeing the community come together and countdown with Santa to holiday lights shining along 124th Street was such a special moment. Being able to watch SO MANY people come together and enjoy an evening that we curated was a very proud moment that lights me up. This event was the most complex that we've worked on in terms of the number of elements to be coordinated in detail, schedules to be built, the relatively short time frame to set up (it all had to be done on a single day before 3:30 pm!), volunteer coordination, and permitting and licensing. I don't think we've had to coordinate so many pieces on a single event before, and I loved the challenge! When we hit the moment of light-up, it felt like the culmination of all the work coming together in the central moment of the event. Kind of magical, really!

JATEC’s Greatest Show
Like the rest of the team, this event stands out as one of the most memorable and enjoyable projects I’ve been a part of so far. The creative freedom we had allowed us to bring in some amazing vendors. A personal highlight was Balloon Studio's incredible balloon creations. Watching them bring Rebecca’s vision to life was so impressive—they even managed to thread a feather into a balloon pony, which I still think about to this day! Seeing their passion for their craft, combined with our team’s dedication and the enthusiasm of all the vendors, made this such a positive and rewarding experience. I loved being part of it.
University of Alberta Pediatric Research Day
I will literally never run out of good things to say about the team that works on Pediatric Research Day for the University of Alberta. Every year that I have been involved has been such a joy. A few things that I found particularly memorable about PRD in 2024 were the positivity and enthusiasm from EVERYONE there—the speakers, the poster presenters, the U of A staff and faculty, and the vendors. It just made the day extra fun and exciting. We also had the opportunity to activate the event with a bracelet-making activity, and I had so much fun watching people bead their bracelets while enjoying the researchers’ presentations. It felt unique, community-oriented, and wholesome, and that's definitely why it stuck with me as a memorable event.
To our clients, collaborators, and community, thank you for making 2024 unforgettable. We wish you a joyous holiday season filled with laughter, love, and plenty of new adventures in 2025.
See you in the new year!
Warmly,
The Bee Together Team 🧡
