Employee Activation: 5 Ideas for an Employee Appreciation Event or Activity

There are so many ways to show your employees that you appreciate their hard work, contributions, and dedication! We love helping organizations plan employee activations and events as part of our Purpose and Engagement branch, and we know how tough it can be for an organization to find the time to figure out how to show employee appreciation in a meaningful way. If you’re scouring the web looking for ways to show your employees love, look no further! Here are five creative ideas for an employee appreciation event!

Catered lunch or dinner: Treat your employees to a catered lunch or dinner to show your appreciation for all that they do. You could choose to cater a specific cuisine, do a charcuterie board like this one from Art of Charcuterie, or have a potluck-style meal where everyone brings in their favourite dish to share. You could even take it one step further and include a specialty dessert with a custom label!

Volunteer day: Organize a volunteer day where employees can give back to the community! This can be a great team-building exercise that also allows employees to make a positive impact on the organizations or causes in your community that they care about.

Host a themed party: Choose a fun and unique theme that your employees will enjoy, such as a masquerade ball, or a Hollywood night. Decorate the venue, provide food and drinks, and encourage everyone to dress up, connect, and of course, have fun!

A relaxation day: Organize a day of relaxation and self-care for your employees! This could include activities such as yoga classes, meditation sessions, and healthy snacks. You could also provide a quiet room where employees can just relax.

Team-building activities: Plan fun team-building activities like a scavenger hunt, escape room, or an outdoor adventure, such as a fun run! These activities not only promote teamwork and collaboration but also encourage employees to bond with each other.

Whether the event you plan is big or small, it’s important to remember that the key to a successful employee appreciation event is simply to make it meaningful and personalized to your employees' interests and needs!
