There is always so much to look forward to about an event. The food, drinks, swag, and of course, the event program itself. One thing we’ve been having a lot of fun with this year is incorporating unique entertainment and activities into the events we’ve worked on. A lot of magic happens when you give us a nibble of creative freedom! Here are 10 of our favourite activities and entertainment that we’ve incorporated in our events recently:
Caricaturist
This is a classic that we’ve found most people love to see at any event. Plus, people love something they can bring home with them afterwards, and a fun drawing of themselves and/or who they’ve attended the event with is the perfect take away!
Magician Sideshow
One of our favourite local Magicians set up a side show recently at our client’s business anniversary celebration and it was the perfect touch to round out the circus-themed event. The mysterious set up intrigued the guests and really added to the overall atmosphere of the event. For any circus themed event, this would be such a great addition to include!
Aerial Bartending
A spectacle and absolutely thrilling to see, including aerial bartenders at our client’s winter themed event was a wow-moment that everyone loved! The great thing about these performers is that they can dress to suit any theme so they are a wonderful addition to an extravagant event.
Perogies at a Golf Hole
Absolutely one of the more unique golf hole activations, having a locally owned pierogi business on a golf hole was an unexpected delight that all golfers (and us) loved!
Fortune Writer
Another excellent addition to a themed event, the fortune writer at our client’s event brought a typewriter to write fortunes and provided another unique item guests could take away from the event. There’s just something about a typewriter, you know?
Giant Train
A hit for kids (and adults too, let’s be honest) having a ride-on train at a couple of our client’s community events has been such a delight and a unique bit of entertainment to include.
Notorious Cree
An epic inclusion for Festival of Trees, we were able to have James Jones (Notorious Cree), a traditional hoop and powwow dancer, perform at one of our client’s events. It was such a visually stunning performance and a great way to Indigenize the event.
Spoken Word Performer
Always impactful, having a spoken word performer at an event is a great inclusion at a fundraising event, especially if the performer is passionate about the cause and they can tailor their spoken word to the event’s purpose. At our client’s hospital fundraising event, we were privileged to have spoken word artist, Medgine Mathurin, perform and share her patient story.
Art Challenge
This was such a fun and unique way to get local artists involved in a community event! The art challenge at our client’s neighbourhood event invited local artists to create a work of art at the event where attendees would then vote for their favourite piece and the winning artist would receive a prize!
Car Show
Finally, we incorporated a car show from a local car club into our client’s community event, where attendees had the chance to vote for their favourite car. The winning vehicle later received a trophy and a prize, adding a bit of competitive fun to the mix.
And that’s it for some of the cool entertainment and activations we’ve included in events lately. We’re excited about what’s next and looking forward to bringing even more fresh and fun experiences to our future events. Stay tuned—there’s definitely more good stuff coming!
